UH-1D
Unit: US Navy Test Pilot School (US TPS), US Navy
Serial: 13816/816

NAS Patuxant River, Virginia, 1970.

NAS Patuxant River, Virginia has borrowed several aircraft from the US Army over the years. These aircraft retain their US Army serial number - and most of the time their US Army paint scheme and markings. The USN TPS has had/or still has at least one of the following Grumman OV-1 'Mohawk', Beechcraft U-21A 'Ute', Bell OH-58A 'Kiowa', Hughes OH-6A 'Cayuse' [aka 'LOH'] - and probably several other types.

US Army aviators (pilots) selected by the Army for Test Pilot training go through the USN TPS.
