C-141A-1-LM
Unit: MATC, USAF
Serial: 12775 (61-2775)

The a/c in Military Air Transport Service markings, late 1965. This aircraft, the first production C-141, though not the first in operational use, is seen here finished in the original natural metal scheme worn by the type. 12775 was one of only four Starlifters not to be modified to C-141B standard, and remains in service as a NC-141A with the 4950th Test Wing of Air Force Material Command.

C-141A-LM
Unit: 438th MAW, USAF
Serial: 70021 (67-0021)

The aircraft in an experimental two-tone Grey scheme applied to a few aircraft in 1979-1980. The exact colours used are not known, but were possibly Compass Gray FS36320 and Gray FS39495. The scheme was short-lived, being dropped in favour of the tactical 'European One' finish.
