F-8A (F8U-1) | Unit: VF-32 "Swordsmen", US Navy Serial: 214/K (BuNo.142413) This F8U-1 was assigned to Fighter Squadron Thirty Two VF-32 'Swordsmen' at Naval Air Station (NAS) Cecil Field, Florida. VF-32 was the first fleet squadron to receive Crusaders, having accepted their first F8U-1s in December of 1956. This Squadron flew Crusader variants until 1965. The standard US F8U/F-8 color scheme was Light Gull Gray (FS36440) upper surfaces and Insignia White (FS17875) control and undersurfaces.

F-8A (F8U-1) | Unit: VMF-215 "Fighting Corsairs", USMC Serial: 9/5K (BuNo.143693) This unit, based at Olathe NAS received F-8A Crusaders in 1964. This specific aircraft appeared to have paint patches of a darker shade than Light Gull Grey applied at different locations. The '7K' tailcode was changed to '5K' in 1968.
