This F-8E(FN)P was assigned to Flottille 12F at Landivisiau, France in 1994. This was the only Aeronavale squadron to fly the Prolongue (Prolonged) variant. The Crusader was painted overall Dark Blue-Gray (approximately FS35164), which was similar to the British PRU Blue color used in World War Two. Both the aircraft number and MARINE (NAVY) title are Light Gull Gray. Black and White 'Invasion Stripes' commemorated the 50th anniversary of the D-Day invasion of France on 6 June 1944.
