One of the MiG-15's which was introduced and completed for the KVP-Luft (Kasernierten Volkspolizei - Luft = Garrisoned People's Police - Air, the predecessor of People's Army) in the beginning of 1953 but after 17th of June called back again (Note: after the wave of demonstrations, strikes and protests starting this day and later suppressed by Soviet army and GDR police).

Note: two examples of national marking being proposed immediately after creation of NVA (Nationalvolksarmee = National People's Army) in its air forces units but not introduced.

This plane used 300 l droop tanks. It was used in the FAG-2 (Fliegerausbildungsgeschwader 2) a fighter training unit. The symbol on the nose stand for 'aircraft in high quality'.

The MiG-15 remained in service from 1956 until the disbandment of the East Germany Air Force in 1990. The '114' was in service with the JBG-31 from February 1960 until 25th June 1980. Then it was sold to Guinea-Bissau.
