MiG-15bis
Unit: 913th IAP, 32nd IAD, 64th IAK
Serial: 93

Pilot - Capt.S.A.Fedorets, April 12, 1953.

When the MiG-15bis was taken on charge by regiment it was silver overall. Shortly afterwards, in PARM (Polevaya Avia Remontnaya Masterskaya - field maintenance and repair workshop) it received camouflage - patches of green, brown and sand on upper surfaces and blue undersides. That was not standard for camouflage, so each machine had its own pattern. Tactical number '93' - red digits with no outline. Korean national insignia were in usual six positions fuselage sees, wings upper and lower surfaces. Wheel disks were green. After glorious engagement on April 12, 1953 when the plane was lost, Fedorets receded other MiG-15bis 'Red 16' which had the same camouflage colours as previous. But it differs from '93' in such way that had no Korean insignia on the wings undersides. Also (before the end of war) victory stars began to appear on the planes in May of 1953 Fedorets' machine had 7 such signs. Victory stars were applied only on the port side below seats armour back. Stars were red with no outline.

MiG-15 (bis ?)
Unit: unknown
Serial: 148

Soviet MiG-15s at the time the Korean War began were looking relatively simple: two or three-digit bort numbers were applied on the forward fuselage and the usual red stars - of the same size - on the fin and the rear fuselage. This changed as soon as the aircraft started arriving in China.
