Me.323D-1
Unit: 5./TG 5
Serial: C8+FN

Eastern Front, Winter of 1943-1944. The fuselage codes of 5./TG5 (5.Staffel/Transportgeschwader 5). The defensive armament for such a large aircraft was entirely insufficient. The weapons in the fuselage nose and both rear (dorsal) positions were supplemented by six machine-guns firing through fuselage windows to the front and rear (areas) of the wing.
