India, circa 1942. This Lysander is a Canadian National Steel Car Corp.Ltd license-construction, Mk.II, 75 a/c with 905 hp Bristols Perseus XII engines. No.416-490 (438-440 became DG445-DG447). The 20th Sqn was stationed in Secunderabad, Jamshedpur and Tezpur, India.

Lysander Mk.II

Serial: OO-F (L4787)

Depicted Westland Lysander II serial nr. L4767 belonged to 13th squadron of British expeditionary force in Monsen-Chausee, France, 1939. Upper surfaces were painted with irregular fields of Dark Earth and Dark Green colours. It is interesting that also bellow surface of fuselage, wheel legs, wheel hood and wing struts were also painted Dark Earth and Dark Green. Only lower surfaces of wings, horizontal tail and auxiliary 'wings' on wheel hoods were painted with Light Grey-Blue. Code letters (OO-F) were Light Grey, serial number was Red. Spin was Black, propeller blades were Black with Yellow tips.
