BV.238V-1
Unit: unknown
Serial: RO+EZ

The prototype BV.238V-1 with its radio call sign RO+EZ made its involuntary first flight on March 10th, 1944 with Blohm & Voss chief test pilot Helmut Wasa Rodig at its controls on river Elbe at Hamburg-Finkenwaerder. One day later it was the official maiden flight of this huge flying boat with about 57.7 meters wing span (not over 60 meters which could be archived only with additional wing weapons not used on the V-1). The flying boat was destroyed by strafing RAF Typhoons at its moorings on Lake Schaal on April 24th, 1945.
