P-47D-30-RA "Tarheel Hal" | Unit: 366th FS, 358th FG, USAAF Serial: IA-N (44-33240) Toul, France, Winter of 1944. The pilot was apparently from North Carolina (The Tarheel State). The aircraft has been restored to flight-worthy condition and is owned by Lone Star Flight Museum in Texas.
