The sole prototype of MB.5. First flew on 23rd May 1944 at Harwell. Test-pilot of Rotol Ltd F/Lt.Bryan Greensted. Unfortunately aircraft was not produced. It was engined by a Rolls Royce Griffon 82 engine of 2.340 HP, reaching 740 Km/h at 6.200 mts, the planned armament, like MB.3, was six 20 mm Hispano guns with 200 rpg, and was without doubt the most powerful piston driven aircraft made in England during WW2.
