ETF-51D (ex P-51D-5-NA)
Unit: US Navy
Serial: 44-14017

The Mustang adapted for aircraft carrier operations. It was trialled aboard the carrier CV-38 USS Shangri-La in 1944. This plane is often confused with BuNo.57987, which was actually an earlier P-51 (41-37426) that had been diverted from a British order.
