This a/c was used for carriers qualification flights for Naval Aviators during late 1943. The a/c wears the three-colour Basic (Non-Specular) camouflage scheme introduced after February 1st, 1943. The colours are: Non-Specular Sea Blue, Non-Specular Insignia White. The national insignia is carried in four positions, it has White bars added and its borders are in Insignia Blue.

According this source: this a/c was flown by Ens Albert K.Earnest during the Battle of Midway. This machine was the only survived. The top surfaces in Blue Gray and the under in Light Gray.
