Lancaster B.Mk.I "City of Lincoln"
Unit: BBMF (Battle of Britain Memorial Flight)
Serial: KM-B (PA474)

RAF Coltishall, 1975. The aircraft had been made airworthy by personnel of 44 Squadron at Waddington before joining the BBMF in 1973. It was painted in the markings of the 44 Squadron aircraft flown by Squadron Leader John Nettleton VC on the famous low level daylight attack on the MAN diesel-engine factory at Augsburg in April 1942. In 1975 the City of Lincoln adopted the aircraft and the city's crest and the name were painted on its nose.

One of a batch of 400 built by Armstrong Whitworth. She was one of the special lead aircraft equipped not only with H2S in the blister under the rear fuselage but also with the precision navaid Gee-H, as indicated by the yellow bands across the fins.
