Beaufighter prototype | Unit: unknown Serial: R2052 Bristol Works, Filton, 1939. Overall aluminium first flown on 17 July 1939. It carried A-type roundels of 35-in diameter on the fuselage, 63 in on the wing upper surfaces and 45 in below the wings.

Beaufighter Mk.IC "Pegasus" | Unit: 272 Sqn, FAA Serial: M (T3315) Idku, Egypt, lost to enemy action on 6th September 1941. Dark Green/Middle Stone/Light Mediterranean Blue. 35-in A1 roundels appear on the fuselage, with B type markings of 63-in diameter above the wings. The lower wing roundels are of A type, in 45-in diameter. The fin flash measured 24 x 27 in. The code letter, in White was approximately 28-in high and was repeated under the nose approximately 12-in high. Pegasus appeared under the cockpit in white letters approximately 5-in high. A large area of red dope marked the cannon trough area. Inset: Port and starboard nose sections showing name and areas of red dope.

Beaufighter Mk.IC | Unit: 236 Sqn, Coastal Command, RAF Serial: ND-C (T4800) RAF Wattisham, Suffolk, June 1942.
The depicted Bristol Beaufighter Mk.IC belonged in the order of RAF 236th Coastal Command Squadron, and in a way it booked itself into flying legends. The crew composed of F/Lt.A.K.Gatward and Sgt.Fern flew up in this machine on 12th of June 1942 to fly over occupied Paris in full daylight and dropped French national flags at Victory Arch. Then, according to some declarations, it swept off Nazi flag from the roof of German Navy Command building, some other sources ascribed to the crew also bombardment of Gestapo building using airborne cannon...

RAF Wattisham, June 1942. Probably in Extra Dark Sea/Dark Slate Grey/Sky. 35-in C type roundels appear on the fuselage, with 63-in B type upper wing roundels and 24 x 24 in fin flash. The serial was 8 in high and the codes approximately 36-in high in new fresh Sky. The aircraft was flown by Flt.Lt.A.K.Gatward and Sgt.G.Fern on 12 June 1942 when in dropped a Tricolour on the Arc de Triomphe, Paris.

Note that this aircraft was one of the first Beaufighters to be delivered to the Blenheim IF equipped 25 Sqn and is still awaiting its individual aircraft letter.
