This aircraft belonged to the order of special attack formation incorporated in Yokosuka Kokutai, circa 1945. The inclined stripe on vertical tail flat states that this machine crew was calculated for targets search and attack group guidance. When this stripe was yellow, the machine usually was equipped with radar.

Serial: YoD-181
First, this airplane was produced as Night Fighter Kyokuko (P1Y2-S), at Nakajima Factory. Next, it was remodeled to Ginga Model 16 (P1Y2a) to be loaded with the bombs or torpedo, at Kawanishi Factory. Furthermore, this airplane was assigned to 302nd Kokutai, and this was remodeled to the Night Fighter again at Atsugi Naval Air Base.
