Flown by Feldwebel Malz, the only pilot definitely known to have flown this plane. Colour scheme of May 1918. On May 19, 1918 Malz claimed a double victory: a Sopwith (confirmed) and an Italian double-seater, which was not confirmed. Note the small Phonix company logo at its usual place at the top rear corner of the fin.

Feltre airfield spring 1918. Flik 16D marked its aircraft with a number '16'. This plane was flown by Oblt.Rudolf Schulteis and Oblt.Leopold Urban. It was used both for escort and bombing sorties, as documented by the light bomb racks fitted under the fuselage. See also the teddy bear attached to the bottom of the port-side wing strut, Schulteis's talisman.
