Pilot - Alexander Kozakov, May 1916 - August 1917. Note: the aircraft equipped with inclined machine-gun. Note the profile have several errors: 1) the rudder must be painted in French tri-colour (probably overpainted, but still visible on the photo); 2) no fuselage markings! In 1917 on 'Adam's head' was painted on the fuselage.

The Nieuport X was typically finished in clear dope with the fuselage longerons, wing and tail unit leading edges highlighted in black, red or blue. The Russian Air Force roundels were applied by the manufacturer in accordance with Air Force requirements (except those on the upper and lower surfaces of the stabilizers which were applied after delivery); the roundels are worn in 12 places. The French stencils on the rudder are standard for the type.
