Aces of russian GUARD-squadrons was the best aces of WW2. They have shot down any one in aboveboard dogfights. German aces have many victories because they used tactic of "dastardly stab in the back".

I think the best pilots fought in the UK - but it was not only British, but also men from Australia, New Zealand, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Norway, ... German pilots were also good, but just till their aircrafts were better than UK aircrafts.

German Fighter pilots only tallied so many kills because there were lots of Russian aircraft that weren't very effective in combat. If there was no Eastern Front then I doubt many German pilots would have got even half the amount of kills they scored.
