von Rosen Carl Gustaf Ericsson(19.08.1909 - 13.07.1977)
† - Killed in combat on the ground

Swedish count, pioneer aviator, son of the explorer Eric von Rosen and nephew of Carin Goring, wife of Hermann Goring (WW1 German ace and commander of Nazi Luftwaffe). In 1935-1936 she flying food and supplies for the Red Cross in when the Italians attacked Ethiopia. In this he survived several attacks by the Italian Air Force. After his return from the war he went to the Netherlands to join KLM. Later he took part in the Winter War as volunteer and donated DC-2 to FAF. When the Germans attacked the Netherlands, he tried to join RAF but was turned down, on account of his family relation to Hermann Goring. During the was he flied for the KLM on the dangerous route London-Lisbon. After the war, von Rosen spent years in Ethiopia as an instructor for the Imperial Ethiopian Air Force. He missed Congo Crisis due to he was grounded by illness. He took part in Nigeria Civil War and formed rebellion Air Force of Biafra. He took part in Ogaden War between Ethiopia and Somalia, where he was killed on the ground during a sudden Somali guerrilla attack near Gode.
