A Cyprus National Guard Air Wing was first formed on 16 August 1960, but grounded by the 1974 Turkish invasion. The Air Wing was reformed in 1982. The national flag is carried as a fin flash.

1996 to Present

In 1996 the Cyprus Air Force was formed from the Air Wing. Greek national marking roundels were adopted in 1996. The main marking is displayed on the fuselage sides of the helicopters, and in the standard six positions on aircraft. The national flag is carried as a fin flash. Aircraft do not carry service titles.
