Dassault MD.450 Ouragan - India

Toofani
Serial: IC556
Unit: 47 Sqn "Archers" ?, IAF

Ouragan was - together with the Vampire - the most important early jet in Indian service, in the late 1950s. By 1965 it was already obsolete and the units still flying it were held back in reserve. Note the large serials and the unit insignia (that of the No.47 Sqn, 'Archers'?) applied in the style typical for the time: in war the serial would be replaced by a much smaller version and most of the other insignia decreased in size or even completely removed.
