Unit: North Atlantic Wing, Air Transport Command, USAAF

October 1943. This Douglas C-47 Skytrain carried at its yellow fuselage band the badge of ATC (Air Transport Command) of USAAF formed on 1st July 1942. Regarding their number C-47 had the largest share in the ATC-Fleet, and also they regularly passed over Himalaya between India and China. C-47B was specially modified for these extreme heights.
