Serial: WD-W (42-7936) Unit: 335th FS, 4th FG, 8th AF, USAAF Pilot - Maj.Fonzo D.Smith. He flew this aircraft is September 1943. Standard OD and NG with white theater bands, nose and tail. Aircraft re-coded WD-D in February 1944.
Maj.Fonzo joined 335th FS 15th September 1942. Become POW 3rd August 1944. Squadron Operation Officer 4th October 1943. Flew two tours. Assigned to HQ Squadron when he was lost.
