Serial: VF-P (42-7884) Unit: 336th FS, 4th FG, 8th AF, USAAF Pilot - Maj. John Trevor Godfrey ('Johnny'). Woonsocket, Rhode Island. Joined 336th FS 22/9/43. POW 24/8/44. P-47D-1-RE assigned to Godfrey named after his dog 'Lucky'. The inscription 'Reggie's Reply' is for his brother killed in the Battle of the Atlantic. Standard OD and NG with white ETO bands, nose and all tail surfaces. He scored 3.5 kills in Thunderbolts, 1.5 in this aircraft.
