Serial: 5 Unit: 23 Sqn, RFC La Lovie airfield, The Western Front, Summer 1917. Original clear doped fabric-covered areas and Light Yellow forward fuselage hastily overpainted with PC 10; fuselage undersides may have also been doped in that colour. Full-chord diameter RFC cockades above the wing, with smaller diameter roundel segments of different shade on ailerons (possibly replacements). Serial number superimposed on the original clear-doped rectangle. Starboard side of the windscreen removed.
