Beech Model 33/35/36 Bonanza/Debonair - Israel

Beech A-35 Bonanza
Serial: B-41 (0601)
Unit: IDF/AF

One of two Beech A35 (ex ZS-BWR and ZS-BWS) examples purchased in South Africa by Boris Senior, and delivered in May 1948. Originally in overall Silver with Red nose, fuselage stripes and registration this aircraft was eventually camouflaged in Green and brown uppersurfaces. This way crudely applied and the Red paint still showed through the camouflage colour. One additional example from Netherlands - donated and delivered by Wim van Leer May 1948. Used by Tel Aviv Sqn at Sde Dov and Galilee Sqn for light attack role. Locally fitted with underwing bomb racks. Three aircraft in service 9 September 1948 - but all awaiting repair. Used for liaison role after War of Independence. Withdrawn after December 1952. No Hebrew name given.
