  • Originally she was laid down as Mormacland merchant ship, but converted to the CVE-17 USS St.George ASW carrier.
  • On June 14th, 1943 she was transferred to Royal Navy under Lend-Lease.
  • In 1943-1944 she served in the Home Fleet, primarily on convoy escort duty.
  • In April 1944 she provided fighter support for an air strike on the German battleship Tirpitz in Norway, which disabled the German ship for three months.
  • In July 1944 she ferried 881 NAS with 24 Wildcat VI's to the Malta.
  • In August-September 1944, she group providing air cover for the landings in southern France. Later she operated in Aegean sea.
  • She was assigned new designation R309 circa 1945 for service in the Pacific, but probably not worn.
  • She was returned to USA in February 1946 but due to WW2 ended.
  • She was sold for scrap in May 1946.
