  • In May-April 1941 she took part in the hunt for the German battleship Bismarck in the North Atlantic.
  • In the end of 1941 she took part in various attacks against ports in Norway, which was under German occupation.
  • During 1941-1942 she took part in many Arctic convoys, a vital supply line for the Soviet Union, included famous PQ-17.
  • On March 9th, 1942 she launched an attack on Tirpitz German battleship.
  • In August 1942 she took part in largest convoy to Malta, named Operation Pedestal.
  • On August 11th, 1942 she was slightly damaged by attacks from Italian bombers.
  • In November 1942 she took part in the Operation Torch Allies landing operation in the North Africa.
  • During winter 1942-1943 she was refitted in the Norfolk, USA, then transferred to Pacific Ocean.
  • In the first half of 1943 she operated in the South Pacific area were conducted in the Solomon Islands. During this time she was home to US Navy fighter squadrons too.
  • In May-July 1943 she provided air support for Allied forces, including the invasion of New Georgia.

  • In July 1945 she launched strikes against against Japanese Islands and seriously damaged escort carrier Kaiyo at Beppu Bay, Kyushu.
  • Immediately after the war, Victorious assisted in the repatriation of prisoners of war.
  • During 1947-1950 she served as a training ship.
  • During 1950-1958 she has extensive reconstruction and refitted, included an angled flight deck was added.
  • During 1958-1968 she served in the Far East Fleet.
  • In 1968 she was decommissioned and scrapped in 1969.
