  • In early 1942 she operated in Indian Ocean.
  • In May 1942 she took part in the Operation Ironclad, the invasion of Vichy-controlled Madagascar.
  • In Summer 1942 she participated in Operation Pedestal, the largest convoy to supply the besieged island of Malta. During this operation she was seriously damaged by enemy bombs end went to USA for repairing.
  • In February 1943 she returned to Mediterranean and in Summer 1943 took part in Allied invasion of Sicily (Operation Husky), where she was torpedoed by German Ju.88 and returned again to the USA for repairing.
  • She returned to the Eastern Fleet in early 1944.
  • During 1944-1945 she took part in strikes against Sumatra, Medan, Nicobar Islands, Palembang.
  • On May 4th, 1945 she was hit by a Kamikaze, but her armoured flight deck saved from serious damage.
  • In August 1945 she participated in the reconquest of Hong Kong.
  • In November 1945 she returned to UK.
  • During 1947-1950 she was in reserve and refitted.
  • In 1950-1953 she returned to operational duty with the Home Fleet.
  • On February 3rd, 1953, she was badly damaged by an internal fire and explosion and was never repaired.
  • She was sold for scrap in 1955.
