Fate: scrapped
  • She was laid down as Italian ocean liner Conte Rosso. However it was bought by Royal Navy and finished as aircraft carrier HMS Argus.
  • She was commissioned in September 1918 just before the end the WW1 and did't took part in combats.
  • Until end of 1920's she was used for techniques developing of aircraft carrier combat and training navy aviators. Then she was served as training aircraft carrier.
  • In 1937-1938 she was modernized.
  • In August-September 1940 she was used for ferrying aircraft to the Egypt.
  • In August 1941 she ferried aircraft to the USSR via North Atlantic.
  • From December 1941 to February 1942 she was overhauled and recalled to front line service due to lack of operational aircraft carrier.
  • In Summer 1942 she escorted convoy to the Malta.
  • In November 1942 she supported Allies landing in the North Africa.
  • In 1943-1944 she served as training.
  • In 1944 she was decommissioned in reserve as an accommodation ship.
  • In 1946 she was sold for scrapping and scrapped next year.
