  • She was launched in 1937, and commissioned in November 1938.
  • When the WW2 began in September 1939 she started anti-submarine patrol off British coast.
  • In October-November 1939 she hunted the German rider Graf Spee in Southern Atlantic.
  • In March-April 1940 she operated at Mediterranean Sea.
  • In April-June 1940 she operated in North Sea to resist German Norwegian campaign.
  • In the end of June - beginning of 1940 she took part in Battle of Mers-el-Kebir, destroying of French Fleet in Algeria.
  • In July-September 1940 she operated in Mediterranean against Italians and took part in Malta defence.
  • In the end of September 1940 she took part in unsuccessful attempt to captured French Dakar.
  • In November 1940 - January 1941 she escorted convoys to Malta and operated in Mediterranean.
  • In February-March 1941 she operated in Atlantic and tried to destroy German raiders Scharnhorst and Gneisenau without success.
  • In May 1941 she escorted convoys to Malta.
  • In the second half of 1941 she took part in hunting and destroying of famous German battleship Bismark in Atlantic.
  • In June-November 1941 she escorted convoys to Malta.
  • On November 13th, 1941 during returning to Gibraltar she was torpedoed by German U-boat U-81 and sank after crew left the ship.
