During 1940-1942 she served in US Navy as AO-29 oilers. In Spring 1942 she started conversion to the auxiliary aircraft carrier ACV-29. She was commissioned in August 1942. In September-October 1942 she operated in Bermuda area. On October 30th, 1942 she was damaged by 325 pound bomb dropped on the deck from SBD-3 bomber. In November 1942 she operated near French Morocco coast supporting Operation Torch the Allies invasion of North Africa. In the first half of 1943 she operated off Brazilian coast and in the South Atlantic. In Summer 1943 she made antisubmarine patrol off French Morocco and escorted Atlantic convoys. In November 1943 she made antisubmarine patrol in the Bay of Biscay. In December 1943 she patrolled in North Atlantic. In January 1944 she transported P-38 fighters from USA to Glasgow, UK. In February 1944 she sailed to Pacific. In April 1944 she supported New Guinea campaign. In Summer 1944 she made supply operation in Marshalls, ferried aircraft to Guam. In September 1944 she attacked Morotai, Moluccas. In October 1944 she operated off Philippines. On October 25th, 1944 she was seriously damaged by Japanese bomber and torpedoed by submarine. From November 1944 to January 1945 she was repaired at Hawaii, that at Los Angeles. In the end of January 1945 she returned Pacific. In March 1945 she operated in the Philippines area. In April-May 1945 she supported Okinawa campaign and operated in East China Sea. In June 1945 she launched a fighter strikes against Kyushu, Japan. In July 1945 she operated in Okinawa area. In September 1945 she supported occupation of Korea and Japan. In the end of 1945 she took part in transport operations in Pacific (part of Operation Magic Carpet). In February 1946 she returned USA. In October 1946 she was placed in reserve. In June 1955 she was reclassified CVHE-29. In 1959 she was scrapped.
