28.12.1942
Maiden flight of Me.410V-1 (coded DI+NW) "Hornisse" (Hornet), a development of the failed Me.210. Although vulnerable against single seat fighter the Me.410 was used as zerterer, reconnaissance, night fighter, dive and level bomber and proved to be worthy rival for any twin engined allied plane. (according to other sources its first flight was on 30, 29 or 27 December 1942).
